WWE RAW WORKRATE REPORT
What Worked
TKG: I dig Lawler as WWE's expert on pop music. Lawler gets excited to see Papa Roach, Lawler pimps all the new CDs. the WWE can't convince me that they're hip and with it. but I am convinced that Lawler is a guy who keeps abreast of what the young girls listen to.
TKG: Benoit sure sells the fuck out of a chop block. Flair is really limited and WWE has forced Benoit to work a really limited style and well it works.
PAS: Flair looked like he remembered how to take a backdrop this week, and I always enjoy Beniot and Flair chopping the shit out of each other. And that's about it.
TKG: I kind of dug the joshi tag although with her hair and those fishnets, Nidia looked uncomfortably like Rudy Reyna. I've seen 80s Rudy Reyna and sadly even in his prime he wasn't as good as Nidia. On the other hand no one on tonight's show looked as talented as Bello Greco.
TKG: That Ballard brother takes a chokeslam really well.
What Didn't Work
PAS: I tried to like Regal v. Batista, but it was short and messy. I am hoping better from the tag match.
TKG: Yeah. I think I liked Maven vs. Rodney Mack more.
PAS: I am less excited about strippers calling each other skanks, then most of the people on this board. I work at a bar, hostile drunk bitches aren't really that novel.
TKG: Carly Carribean Cool? What the fuck? the only reason you hire Carlos Colon's son is because he's Carlos Colon's son. Idiots. You don't hire David Sammartino and regimmick him as David Italian Style. You don't hire David Flair and regimmick him as David the Traffic cop.
PAS: Yeah that is like hiring the son of Dusty Rhodes and making him a trannie.
PAS:Dave Meltzer said on WC.com that if you told anyone in the WWE that Samoa Joe was better then Helmsley they "wouldn't stop laughing for a week." Well I just finished watching all of 2004 ROH and Samoa Joe v. Jay Briscoe was an much better bloody cage brawl then Helmsley v. hair plugs Micheals, Samoa Joe v. C.M. Punk for an hour was worlds better then HHH v. Beniot, and I don't think anyone is saying Punk is better then Beniot, Joe v. Homicide is a better burying of a black guy then Helmsley v. Shelton, and Joe v. Whitmer was a whole lot better the HHH v. Eugene for a match against an ex-HWA worker doing a retard gimmick.
TKG: Ahh I thought it was Matt Stryker who was working the gimmick of ex-HWA worker who didn't know how to properly groom himself. Helmsley vs. Eugene wasn't as good as Joe vs. Stryker. Not as good as Rodney Mack vs. Maven. Not as good as Chuck Palumbo vs. Ollie Ollie Oxen-Free Babagunush.
