What Worked
TKG: Really liked the tails on La Resistance. Kept on expecting Jackie Fargo to run in to make the save. Match itself STANK STANK STANK. But I liked the tails.
PAS: Man Regal is just a step above everyone else on this show. From his opening promo to his early match beatdown to every moment of him getting destroyed was just awesome. Helmsley is very much Bradshaw to Regal's Eddie, as he doesn't do much. Man the little things here ruled, Regals look of bloody fury before he gets hit with the sledgehammer, his selling of a nutshot, the alliteration in his promo, REGAL MOTHERFUCKERS REGAL.
TKG:Regal just has one great segment after another. I'd like to see him have , you know an actual match. but he is gold in all his segments. The early sections of match where Regal worked over Helmsley were super fun as you go "damn I forgot how great Regal's straight rights are" and then he changes it up and throws a beautiful jab. Helmsley pussys out on a knee lift where he locks his arm Hogan style to not take any impact. I mean shit Regal leans way in for you shitty arcing punch and you can't take a knee. Fun segments. Still would like to see a match.
PAS: I really enjoy the look of disgust on Carmella's face every time the camera isn't on her. I don't know how anyone who would let Hef come on her tits can be beneath anything, but she is beneath this.
TKG: Christy gets on mic and announces that "I really want to live this life". It really looked like she already had lived the WWF lifestyle circa 97. I mean Doc Hendryx wasn't inducting her into the Freebirds, he was trying to kill an infection.
PAS: Trios match was alot of fun, I really liked Orton's chinlock, which can always be hit or miss. Beniot v. Flair is always really fun, although I was shocked Flair didn't take the rolling Germans. Batista almost looked Sioux with his tan and ruled it as usual. Really hot crowd too.
TKG: This was fun. I forgot how much I like Randy Orton as guy standing on apron. As he is really good on the apron. His in ring stuff was hit and miss. His squat, slap his knees, and then jump up for German's was just embarrassing. I forgot how much I don't like Edge on apron as for guy made his name for self in tag work he just seems disinterested on apron. But the storyline between him and Jericho made his disinterest in Jericho, work. Is Flair the only person who takes Benoit's snap suplex? The crowd was hot all night, and this had all the spots to play off that heat. The ending was pretty perfect.
What Didn't Work
TKG: Wow their booking is officially lapping itself. It's one thing to repeat the same spots from last battle Royale but doing the same post royale angle where Jericho's friend turns on him because of being eliminated. Just lazy.
PAS: I was really excited for Rosie v. Tomko, but it didn't live up to my expectations. Tomko may be a guy who can only have good matches with Venis. Tomko goes right back on offense after taking a second rope legdrop from a fat Samoan, and doesn't do the Garvin stomp.
TKG: Yeah I dug this until Tomko no sold the second rope leg drop and went straight on offense. Wasn't a fan of Tomko's claw on Heat but yeah those Garvin Stomps were nasty. Kiebler really is flexible, which must be a requirement to valet for El Dandy.
PAS: Winner gets married? Clearly none of the writers have actually been married. My wife and I have the secret to making a marriage last. Two times a week, we go to a nice restaurant, a little wine, good food..... She goes Tuesdays, I go Fridays. I mean my wife and I went back to the hotel where we spent our wedding night. Only this time, I stayed in the bathroom and cried. I mean I take my wife everywhere, but she keeps finding her way back. All my wife does is shop - once she was sick for a week, and three stores went under. I mean my wife will buy anything marked down. Last year she bought an escalator.
