NACW WORKRATE REPORT

What Worked

Jim Nelson is credited on production now. Haven't seen his Road to Greensboro yet. Want to see it. The production for this show has improved from week to week. More goodness: Ricky Morton and Ole on commentary here. Oh yeah, it's genki.

Bull Buchanan and Dru D'Lite tear it up for 20+ in a main event. Great psychology -- Dru working over Bull's arm, Bull selling through the rallies, all of it a set-up to a Fujiwara armbar which almost won the match. Bagwell/Steiner [see below] cleared much of ringside. Buchanan started this fast and got the crowd back, even getting a Bull chant.

Another fine match w/ Mr. Pleasure and Mr. Bizness taking it to the Black Angel and Deon Johnson. Pleasure and Bizness are like Disorderly Conduct crossed with Condrey/Rose. Was in and out of room when match was on, but this was worth seeing in a less distracted mindset.

What Didn't Work

Buff and Rick Steiner wrestled, and Steiner was drunk off his ass. He kept dipping to the ringside area and making comments that led to female fans clearing out. His ring work? Mmm, he kept climbing the ropes for whatever reason, he couldn't execute a hip toss, he was blown up from throwing a punch. He's picked up an Iron Sheik gut, looks a bit like Robert Goulet at this point, though Goulet can outwork him. NACW should never book him again. Veteran Presence like his is toxic. They even worked a screwy-assed DQ ref bump finish. Clean jobs -- they're what keep promotions in business.
